How is current-dollar GDP valued?
Note
Current-dollar state GDP values production at the prices prevailing in the reference year.
Nominal or current-dollar GDP uses the market prices of the reporting period. An increase can reflect higher prices, higher production, or both, so it is not always a measure of real growth. A nominal increase must be interpreted alongside an inflation-adjusted series.
