Why is a single-command model of Muscogee politics misleading?
Note
Muscogee political autonomy challenges interpretations that treat all town actions as decisions of one centralized authority.
Decentralized authority allows local positions and actions to differ. Recognizing this prevents a document or action from one community being incorrectly attributed to an entire Indigenous nation as though every decision came from one command center.
