Note
Rock carvings (petroglyphs) from the Nordic Bronze Age (approximately 1700–500 BCE) frequently depict ships, often in association with circular solar symbols and other ritual imagery. These motifs are interpreted as reflecting seafaring, trade, and religious or cosmological beliefs (including sun-related cults) in Bronze Age Scandinavian societies. Christian crosses and Arabic inscriptions are from much later historical periods and are not Bronze Age motifs.
