Florida is home to Naval Station Norfolk, the largest naval base in the U.S., located in Pensacola.

The main military facility, military Station Norfolk, is located in Virginia rather than a Gulf Coast state. Naval Air Station Pensacola, located in Florida, is the biggest U.S. naval installation on the Gulf Coast. Known as the "Cradle of Naval Aviation," it is the main training ground for navy pilots and is well-known for housing the U.S. Navy's air demonstration unit, the Blue Angels.
