BEA's comprehensive and annual revisions can alter both recent and earlier state GDP estimates.

Annual revisions incorporate improved source data and may change earlier estimates as well as recent ones. Reproducible research therefore records the vintage of the BEA tables, rather than just the reference year. Even a correctly reported historical GDP value can later change after a comprehensive revision.
