What could change a GDP-per-capita estimate even if total GDP stays constant?
Note
A GDP-per-capita calculation can change if the population denominator uses a different year or estimate vintage.
The numerator may remain fixed while an updated population estimate changes the denominator. A per-capita series should specify compatible GDP and population years, statistical vintages, and the treatment of revisions. A per-capita comparison is sensitive to both the denominator's date and its revision history.
