How is an industry’s share of New Jersey GDP calculated?
Note
An industry's share of state GDP is its value added divided by statewide GDP using consistent periods and industry definitions.
Divide an industry's value added by total state GDP for the same period and consistent classification. Gross sales are not the numerator because they may contain previously produced inputs. Industry shares measured in current dollars sum meaningfully under consistent accounts.
