What does a quarterly GDP level reported at an annual rate represent?
Note
A quarterly annualized GDP level is a rate-scaled level, not the value produced during only those three months.
Annual-rate reporting puts a quarterly level on a scale useful for comparison. It does not mean the quarter already produced a whole year's output, and the figure should not be presented as a completed calendar-year total.
