A demographic group gains residents in Georgia. What must be checked before claiming its population share grew?
Note
An increase in a demographic group's population count need not imply an increase in its share of the state population.
A group's share equals its count divided by the total. Its count can rise while its share falls if the rest of the population grows faster, so a larger group is not necessarily a larger percentage.
