When did Parliament formally back Georgia’s colonial prohibition on Black slavery?
Note
Georgia's formal colonial prohibition on Black slavery received parliamentary backing in 1735.
The 1735 law strengthened the prohibition after the colony's establishment. A legal rule and actual practice remain different questions, so the existence of a ban does not prove perfect enforcement.
