Why are Atlanta city government and Georgia state government different?
Note
State and municipal governments serve different jurisdictions.
A jurisdiction is the area or range over which an authority operates. City government handles municipal matters, while state government has statewide responsibilities; their offices can be in the same city without being the same government.
