Find the conjugate of z=5+1i.
Note
The conjugate of a complex number keeps the real part the same and changes only the sign of the imaginary part. In symbols, the conjugate of a + bi is a - bi. Here the real part is 5, and the imaginary coefficient is 1. So we keep 5 unchanged and reverse the sign of 1i. That gives 5-1i, which is the correct conjugate.
