In an arithmetic progression, first term a=-5 and common difference d=2. Find the 14th term.
Note
For an arithmetic progression, each term changes by the same common difference. To find a specific term, use the nth-term formula instead of listing every term. The nth term of an AP is a_n=a+(n-1)d. So a_14=-5+(14-1)(2)=21. This gives the required term because we move from the first term by (n-1) equal steps.
