A parallelogram has base 13 cm and height 15 cm. What is its area?
Note
Area of a parallelogram = base × height = 13 × 15 = 195 cm². Use the vertical height, not the slanted side, because area depends on base and perpendicular height. A parallelogram can be rearranged into a rectangle with the same base and vertical height. That is why multiplying base by perpendicular height gives its area, and the answer uses square units.
