Note
The Dingo also called Warragal, has contributed to the extermination of the native Tasmanian wolf and Tasmanian devil?
The Dingo is a wild dog that is native to Australia and is also known as the Warragal. Dingoes are believed to have been introduced to Australia by Asian seafarers thousands of years ago, and they are now found throughout much of the continent, including in Tasmania. Dingoes are similar in size and appearance to domestic dogs, but they are generally more slender and have longer legs and a more wolf-like appearance.
Dingoes are known to be effective predators and are capable of taking down a variety of prey, including wallabies, rabbits, and small mammals. In Tasmania, Dingoes have been known to prey on native species such as the Tasmanian Devil and the Tasmanian Wolf (also known as the Tasmanian Tiger). However, it is worth noting that the extinction of these species is believed to be due to a combination of factors, including habitat loss, disease, and human persecution, rather than the impact of Dingoes alone.
