Which part of Alaska experiences the longest summer days?
Note
Northern Alaska experiences the longest summer days, with nearly 24 hours of daylight during the summer solstice.
Northern Alaska enjoys the longest summer days because it is situated above the Arctic Circle. Around the summer solstice, places like Barrow (now called Utqiaġvik) can experience 24 hours of daylight, known as the midnight sun. For several weeks, the sun doesn't set, leading to unusually long days that are specific to areas near the North Pole. This effect becomes stronger as you travel further north. In contrast, southern Alaska, including Anchorage, has more conventional summer days, where the sun sets in the late evening.
