Note
Chief Justice Earl Warren headed the Commission to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
The Commission, also known as the Warren Commission, was established by President Lyndon B. Johnson in November 1963, shortly after Kennedy's assassination in Dallas, Texas. The Commission was charged with determining the circumstances surrounding the assassination and identifying the individuals responsible. The Warren Commission conducted a thorough investigation, including interviews with numerous witnesses and examination of physical evidence, and issued its final report in September 1964. The report concluded that Kennedy was assassinated by a lone gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, who acted alone in carrying out the attack. The report's findings have been the subject of much debate and controversy over the years, with many people believing that there was a wider conspiracy involved in the assassination.
