Note
The technological advantage the Allies had over the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge was superior air support.
The Allies had a considerable advantage in air power, especially as the weather improved later in the war, even if the Germans at first relished the element of surprise. The Allied air forces were able to target German troop movements and supply lines, carry out strategic bombing missions, and close air support ground units. This excellent air support was essential to the Allies' successful reorganization and counteroffensive. Air operations were initially hampered by bad weather, but once it improved, Allied aircraft took control of the sky, which had a major effect on the battle's result by upsetting German logistics and supporting Allied ground forces.
