The Central African CFA franc (ISO code: XAF) is the official currency of Gabon (along with five other central African countries).

It is divided into 100 smaller units called centime. Gabon is largely a cash economy and credit cards are only accepted at some major hotels. Foreign currency can be exchanged at hotels and banks and there are some ATMs in major cities.
