Stan Lee (American comic book writer, editor, producer, and publisher) received a National Medal of Arts award in 2008. Stan Lee (Stanley Martin Lieber) born on December 28, 1922; and died on November 12, 2018.

In collaboration with several artists—particularly Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko—he co-created fictional characters including the Hulk, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange, the X-Men, Daredevil, Black Panther, and—with his brother, co-writer Larry Lieber—the characters Thor, Iron Man, and Ant-Man.
