In an arithmetic progression, first term a=3 and common difference d=-2. Find the 25th term.
Note
For an arithmetic progression, each term changes by the same common difference. To find a specific term, use the nth-term formula instead of listing every term. The nth term of an AP is a_n=a+(n-1)d. So a_25=3+(25-1)(-2)=-45. This gives the required term because we move from the first term by (n-1) equal steps.
