This is an arithmetic sequence because the difference between consecutive terms is constant. For an arithmetic sequence, T_n = first term + (n-1)d = 5 + (n-1)7 = -2 + 7n. A useful check is to put n = 1 into the final formula; it should give the first term of the sequence. So the nth term is -2 + 7n.
