This is an arithmetic sequence because the difference between consecutive terms is constant. For an arithmetic sequence, T_n = first term + (n-1)d = 2 + (n-1)6 = -4 + 6n. A useful check is to put n = 1 into the final formula; it should give the first term of the sequence. So the nth term is -4 + 6n.
